# Register with Louisiana Blue out of network

> Follow the non-participating provider registration steps for Louisiana Blue and confirm your practice and clinician records.

## Before you start

Use this guide when Louisiana Blue is a required Local / Host Plan for your practice or claim-service location. Choose a professional non-participating record application so the payer can establish a claims-processing record without a request to join its network.

If registration is incomplete, claims can be delayed. Not sure which plan applies? First [identify your required Local / Host Plan](/help/claims/bcbs-reimbursement-and-registration#find-and-register-with-your-local-/-host-plan). Registration is separate from joining a network.

## Choose the record-only application

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the current professional-provider page">
    Go to [Louisiana Blue's Professional Providers page](https://providers.lablue.com/provider-networks/professional-providers) and open **Join Our Networks**. Despite its name, this tab also contains the two **Professional Non-Participating Record Application** links. Opening the tab does not apply for network participation.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose with or without CAQH">
    Select **Applying with CAQH** or **Applying without CAQH** for your situation. Do not choose either **Professional CAQH Credentialing Packet** link, which is for participation or joining an existing network group.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Identify the actual signers">
    DocuSign first asks for the **Authorized Representative** and **Provider** names and emails. Enter the correct people when ready to begin: starting the signing process can send emails to those signers.

    Your practice coordinates its billing information and clinician records. If you need to establish a new group or associate clinicians and the packet does not explain how, ask Louisiana Blue which record or affiliation request it requires.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Complete the non-participating checklist">
    Follow the packet's record-only checklist and supply the requested documents. Review everything before signing and submitting through DocuSign. Do not sign a network contract as a substitute for non-participating registration.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Existing records and status questions

For an existing provider record, open **Update Your Information** on the same page and use the matching professional update link. Examples include adding a location or linking to a new group/clinic. Avoid a duplicate initial application.

A DocuSign completion email confirms submission, not active registration. Louisiana Blue asks you to wait **30 days** before checking request status at **[PCDMstatus@lablue.com](mailto:PCDMstatus@lablue.com)**. Include the provider and practice identifiers, form type, and submission date requested on its page. Ask for confirmation that the record is active; do not wait for a network-participation welcome letter for a record-only request.

## What happens next

Once each required plan confirms registration and the required clinician associations are active, [notify Thrizer support and review what happens next](/help/claims/bcbs-reimbursement-and-registration#registration-confirmed-next-steps).

The payer controls registration and claim decisions. Registration does not guarantee reimbursement or recognition of every clinician category. For associate, pre-licensed, or supervised clinicians, ask the payer about recognition and review [Thrizer's supported claim structure](/help/claims/bcbs-reimbursement-and-registration#associate-pre-licensed-or-supervised-clinicians).
