# Register with Washington Blue plans out of network

> Find the Regence and Premera steps for your Washington practice location and confirm your provider records.

## Before you start

For BCBS claims through Thrizer, your practice registers with the Blue Plan or plans that apply to its practice or claim-service location. Use the location used for billing, not the client's home address or the plan on the client's card. If your location is unclear, including for telehealth, confirm the required plan with BlueCard provider services.

**Before you submit:** Make sure your practice EIN/TIN, each clinician's individual rendering NPI, the practice or claim-service address, and other practice details you give each required plan match the information in Thrizer exactly.

## Choose your Washington route

Completing one does not complete the other. |

If you're unsure which plans apply to your location, confirm with the plans before submitting. Do not use your client's Home Plan alone to choose where to register.

## Confirm the first-time process

The linked pages describe provider information updates. Regence's form accepts new information, but its public instructions do not say whether the form alone creates a first-time out-of-network medical or behavioral health practice record. If this is your first registration with Regence, [contact its Provider Contact Center](https://www.regence.com/provider/contact-us) to ask whether another step is required for your practice and clinicians. Ask Premera the same question if its update instructions do not cover your initial record.

An Availity payer selection for claims or benefit checks does not complete provider registration.

## Check that registration is active

Submitting a form alone is not confirmation. Once each required plan confirms that your non-participating practice record and required clinician affiliations are active, [notify Thrizer support and review what happens next](/help/claims/provider-registration#registration-confirmed-next-steps).
