# Add and manage Services

> Create billable and non-billable Services, update your catalog, and manage Services for clinicians on your team.

## Before you start

Your Services catalog is the reusable source for the offerings you select when charging clients. Set up your common Services first so you can charge more consistently and make client-specific changes only where they are needed.

Each clinician has their own catalog, including clinicians who belong to the same practice.

To open your catalog, go to **Clinician Portal → Settings → Services**.

## Add a billable Service

Open **Settings → Services**, select **Add Service**, and keep **Service Type** set to **Billable** when you expect to use the Service in Thrizer's supported insurance-claim process.

Enter the **Service Name**, **CPT Code**, **Rate**, and **Location**, then select **Add Service**. Review the information before saving because those values become the catalog defaults used for clients and charges.

<Note>
  A billable Service can be used in an insurance workflow, but the label does not guarantee plan coverage, claim approval, allowed amount, or reimbursement.
</Note>

## Add a non-billable Service

Open **Settings → Services**, select **Add Service**, and set **Service Type** to **Non-billable** when the offering should be charged through Self-Pay and should not be submitted to insurance.

Enter the **Service Name**, an **Amount** greater than zero, and a **Description**, then select **Add Service**. Non-billable Services do not require insurance service codes and are excluded from claims and superbills.

## Edit your catalog

Update a catalog Service when its standard terms change. The update changes the default used going forward; it does not rewrite completed charges or another clinician's catalog.

Review client-specific terms separately. A client may still have a customized amount or Primary Service for their relationship with you.

## Manage Services for a teammate

Practice administrators and team owners can manage a clinician's catalog where their role allows it. Open **Benefits → Widget Settings → Team**, then select **Manage services** for the intended clinician. The selected clinician's catalog supplies the Services used for that clinician's clients, charges, and benefits-widget listing.

Non-clinical staff may be able to manage widget visibility without being able to edit a clinician's Services catalog.

## What appears in the benefits widget

The widget uses each clinician's catalog list price, not a client's customized price. Billable and non-billable Services may both appear. A clinician needs at least one Service in their catalog to appear in the widget when otherwise shown.
