New features
Team Owner role for practices
Every Thrizer practice now has a Team Owner — the person with ultimate authority over the team. The Team Owner has everything a Practice Administrator can do, plus exclusive control over ownership-sensitive actions. Who becomes the Team Owner:- New practices — the clinician who creates the practice is automatically assigned as Team Owner.
- Existing solo practices — the sole clinician is promoted to Team Owner automatically.
- Existing multi-member practices — no one is assigned by default. A Thrizer admin or the practice’s designated owner needs to explicitly assign the role.
- Grant or revoke the Team Owner role (via invite or role change).
- Remove another Team Owner from the team.
- Perform owner-only compliance actions such as closing the practice account or changing verified business information.
- Clinicians who create a new practice — you’ll be set as Team Owner automatically during onboarding.
- Practice Administrators — you’ll see a new Team Owner role in the Team page, but assigning or removing it is limited to existing owners.
- Team members on multi-clinician practices with no assigned owner — contact Thrizer support to designate your Team Owner.
Bug fixes
Insurance saves now route to the correct payer when eligibility codes are shared
Some payers share the same eligibility code (for example, NYSHIP and UHC share87726). Previously, saving an insurance selection could match the wrong payer in that situation, which sent claims and eligibility checks to the wrong submission profile.
Insurance saves now lock in the specific payer picked from the list — not just the eligibility code — so the saved record always matches the payer you selected.
Who this affects:
- Clients selecting insurance during onboarding or from Settings → Insurance plan.
- Clinicians updating a client’s insurance from the client detail page.
- Practice Administrators editing insurance on the client About tab.
- You must select an insurer from the searchable list. Free-typed or outdated entries are no longer accepted.
- If the insurer list has changed since you opened the form, you’ll be asked to reselect the payer before saving.
- Onboarding will not advance past the insurance step until a valid insurer is chosen.
