Overview
Use Settings to review and manage account-level information in the Clinician Portal. The tabs you see depend on your role.Where to go
Go to: Clinician Portal → SettingsTab visibility by role
If a Staff Member or Clinician opens a deep link to Practice Settings or Banking & Payouts (for example
?tab=banking), the page redirects back to Profile.
Profile
Go to: Clinician Portal → Settings → Profile The Profile tab is available to every Clinician Portal role and includes:- First name and last name
- Display name
- Individual NPI: your personal 10-digit National Provider Identifier from CMS, required for insurance claim submissions
Practice Settings
Practice Administrators only. Combines business and practice identifiers, including the W-9 / KYB (Know Your Business) fields, the practice’s group NPI (Type-2 NPI), the practice’s Business address, and an optional Mailing address for correspondence, superbills, and practice-billed claims. Staff Members and Clinicians can ask a practice administrator to update these values. The group NPI is optional. It’s used only when a payer is set to submit claims under your practice instead of Thrizer or the individual clinician. If your practice has a Type-2 group NPI, add it here. Thrizer then uses it as the billing NPI, and your practice name as the billing name, on those claims. If the group NPI is missing, Thrizer falls back to the rendering clinician’s Individual NPI as the billing NPI. It also uses the rendering clinician’s full name as the billing name. See Claims and superbills for how billing identity appears on claims.Business address
The Business address is captured as separate fields so each part is editable on its own:- Street (with Google address autocomplete)
- Apartment, suite, floor (optional)
- City
- State
- Postal / ZIP code
locality) for a Places pick, Thrizer falls back to postal_town, then sublocality, then administrative_area_level_3 (the municipality name for townships). County-only matches are rejected so a county name never lands in the city leaf on a claim.
Legacy addresses: if a Business address was saved before the multi-field editor existed, the unit line may still be baked into the street value. Re-selecting the address from the autocomplete, or editing the street to remove the unit and typing it into Apartment, suite, floor, moves it to the dedicated field. When Business address is used on a practice-billed claim, the unit flows through as a distinct line.
Mailing address (optional)
If your practice receives paper mail at a different address (for example, a PO Box), fill in the Mailing address row below Business address in Practice Settings. It uses the same multi-field layout as Business address, including the optional apt / suite / floor line. A PO Box is allowed for Mailing address only. When Mailing address has a complete street, city, state, and ZIP, Thrizer uses it instead of Business address for:- new or recreated claims configured to bill under your practice
- correspondence
- the practice address shown on client-downloadable superbills
Missing practice address banner
If your practice is approved on Thrizer but the Business address on your Practice Settings is missing or incomplete, Practice Administrators see a yellow Re-enter your practice address banner. It appears across the top of every page in the Clinician Portal. Staff Members and Clinicians do not see the banner. Only a Practice Administrator can resolve it. Why it appears:- Thrizer needs a complete practice business address to charge clients and to submit out-of-network claims on your behalf. A structured address requires a street, city, state, and ZIP.
- The banner also appears if a data update cleared a partially-filled or unusable address that was previously on file.
- Select Add address on the banner. This opens Settings → Practice Settings with the Business address editor already open (deep link
?tab=practice&edit=businessAddress). - Fill in the street, apt / suite / floor (if any), city, state, and ZIP, then save. Selecting a suggestion from the street autocomplete fills the other fields for you.
- The banner clears once a complete address is on file. The apt / suite / floor line is optional and does not affect completeness.
Business verification status
Every practice has a business verification status that gates whether the practice can charge clients. You can see the current status on the Home checklist and on the Business step in the Clinician Portal.Approved alone is not enough to charge. An approved practice also needs a valid 9-digit Business Tax ID (EIN or SSN) and a complete Business address (street, city, state, ZIP) on file. Approved practices cannot edit the Tax ID themselves. If Add Charge reports a Tax ID problem, contact Thrizer support through your Thrizer account. See Charge readiness.
- Open Practice Settings in the Clinician Portal.
- Fill in every required KYB field. See Which fields are checked for the full list.
- Select Submit for review.
Which fields are checked on an Incomplete practice
An Incomplete practice lists every unmet requirement by name at the top of Practice Settings, so you know exactly which rows to open. Submit for review stays disabled until every one is filled in, and if you try to submit anyway the response names the same unmet fields. Thrizer checks these Practice Settings rows:- Business Structure — your entity type (for example, sole proprietor, LLC, S-corp) as it appears on your W-9.
- Business Name — the legal business name reported on government documents and tax forms.
- Business Tax ID — both the 9-digit tax ID and the tax ID type (EIN or SSN). The type is a separate value inside the Business Tax ID modal, not a visible row of its own, so it can be unmet even when the tax-ID number looks filled in.
- Business Address — the legal business address used on your 1099-K. Must be a complete US address. A street line is required. City, state, and ZIP alone are not enough, so an address can be unmet even when the visible field is not empty.
- Practice Name — the practice’s DBA (doing business as) name.
A Rejected practice can still edit its KYB fields, but Thrizer support handles resubmission rather than the portal.
Banking & Payouts
Practice Administrators only. Manage the bank account that receives Thrizer payouts and review payout-related practice details. Staff Members and Clinicians do not see this tab. Each team has one payout bank account. Thrizer does not support multiple payout bank accounts within a single team, sending payouts to different accounts per clinician, or automated revenue splits between clinicians. Practices that need to divide funds between clinicians handle that distribution outside Thrizer.
