Overview
“Add a new provider” is ambiguous in Thrizer. Depending on who is asking, it usually means one of three different things:- Add a clinician or team member to a practice (practice-admin action).
- Update the insurance provider or payer on a client’s insurance (client action).
- Connect a client to a therapist in Thrizer (invitation-based).
Are you a practice administrator adding a clinician or team member?
Use Clinician Portal → Team → Add Team Member to invite a new clinician or staff member to your practice. See Team members for the invitation flow, role definitions, and how team members interact with the Thrizer Widget. Are you a client updating your insurance provider or payer?

In Thrizer, clinician–client connections are invitation-based. Clients generally do not add clinicians from their own portal. Instead:- Ask the clinician to send you a Thrizer invitation (or a Thrizer Widget / benefit check link from their practice).
- When the clinician invites you, a pending connection appears under Client Portal → Clinicians.
- Select Accept on that row to connect. See Clinician connections.
