Overview

If Instant Reimbursement is unavailable, check the client’s plan, verified benefits, deductible, and successful claim history. A missing Instant Reimbursement option doesn’t mean the insurer denied coverage. Use Reimbursement methods to compare Check, Bank, and Instant Reimbursement. Check or Bank can remain available when supported for the client; Self-Pay does not submit an insurance claim.

What Instant Reimbursement requires

Instant Reimbursement generally requires all of the following:
  • supported primary insurance on file
  • a usable benefit check
  • a met out-of-network deductible
  • at least one prior successful claim to help Thrizer estimate the client’s cost
  • plan support for Instant Reimbursement and its reimbursement-routing needs
  • all applicable clinician and charge requirements
A met deductible alone is not enough.

Why a successful claim is required

A successful claim gives Thrizer insurer-reported information about how that claim was handled, including its allowed amount and coinsurance behavior. Thrizer can use that information to refine later estimates. A successful prior claim does not guarantee that a future claim will be approved or reimbursed in the same way.

Other reasons Instant Reimbursement is unavailable

Beyond the requirements above, Thrizer can pause or withhold this option when insurance information changes, claim outcomes become unreliable, required charge information is missing, or a payer-specific or product limitation applies. A first check that has not established usable benefits is different from an inconclusive recheck of previously verified benefits: the recheck alone does not invalidate the prior verification. For a named plan’s configured methods and restrictions, see the Insurance plan table.

If the benefit check is incomplete

  1. Open Clinician Portal → Clients, select the client, and review Insurance.
  2. Confirm the details match the insurer’s records. Use Linking or editing insurance for permitted practice edits and client-only steps.
  3. If a check offers Try Again, retry. If failures continue, information remains incomplete, or the payer requires manual verification, follow Manual benefit checks.
Do not treat a met deductible alone as proof of Instant Reimbursement eligibility or change verified details just to make the option appear. Clients can contact Support directly through their own account.

What you can share with your client

Instant Reimbursement needs more than a met deductible. We can review your verified benefits and the payment options currently available for your plan. Other supported reimbursement methods may still be available. Your insurer decides the final claim outcome.

What the insurer still decides

The insurer determines final coverage, claim approval, deductible application, reimbursement amount, and timing. Instant Reimbursement availability and benefit estimates do not guarantee any of those outcomes.
