Use this table to compare the out-of-network billing methods listed for an insurance plan or payer. Then use the steps below to check your client’s specific plan. A listed method doesn’t confirm that an individual client qualifies or guarantee reimbursement. Self-Pay is available without insurance billing through Thrizer. You can generate a superbill for eligible Self-Pay charges that use a billable Service for the client to submit directly to their insurer. Thrizer does not submit that claim or manage its reimbursement.

Plan table

Plan data last updated: September 30, 2026. Search for the name on the client’s insurance card using your browser’s Find command. Some entries name a payer rather than a specific plan. For Blue Cross Blue Shield, use the member’s home plan on the card; for Kaiser Permanente, use the regional plan. The table also includes unsupported insurance categories. If you cannot find a match, contact Support. A payer-name match is not a plan match. Products from the same insurance company can have different options. Original Medicare, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, and secondary insurance are excluded from OON Billing even if a broader payer row says Supported. See Can my client use insurance with Thrizer? for the full eligibility requirements. Supported means Thrizer lists that reimbursement method for the named entry. The client’s verified benefits and any payer restrictions still determine whether it can be used. If all three methods say Not supported, OON Billing is unavailable for that entry. Bank reimbursement routes through Thrizer to the client’s linked bank account; it is not paid directly to the client’s card.

When a plan needs review

Confirm plan means the name covers more than one kind of plan, so the exact product needs to be identified before quoting options. Contact Support through your Thrizer account with the client’s exact plan information. Do not assume a similarly named plan has the same options.

If a client’s plan is missing

A missing name does not by itself mean the client has no coverage or that Thrizer cannot work with the plan. Contact Support through your Thrizer account for help identifying it. Support may ask for the front and back of the client’s insurance card and their date of birth. An unsuccessful automated benefit check is not a coverage denial. See Manual benefit checks if benefit information is incomplete. Manual review cannot make an unsupported entry available for OON Billing.

After finding the plan

Clients: Open Client Portal → Settings → Insurance plan to link or edit your insurance. See Linking or editing insurance for what to enter. Clinicians: Check the client’s benefits before choosing insurance billing. For eligibility requirements beyond the listed methods, see Can my client use insurance with Thrizer?. Compare payment methods to see what the client pays and where reimbursement goes. For confirmed BCBS umbrella plans, see BCBS reimbursement. Some insurers also require provider registration or certification. The table does not confirm that your practice or clinician has completed those requirements.
