Before you start

Use Payment Methods to manage the card your clinician can charge through Thrizer.

Where to go

Go to: Client Portal → Settings → Payment Methods

What you can do

The Payment Methods page lets you:
  • Add a payment method
  • View saved payment methods
  • See card ending details
  • See default status
  • Set a card as the default payment method
  • Delete a payment method

Add a card

Select Add Card to open the add-card drawer. The card form includes:
  • Card number
  • Expiry date
  • CVC
After you add the card, Thrizer saves it for future payments.

Set a default card

Use Set as default to make a saved card the default payment method.

Delete a card

Use Delete to open a confirmation modal. Confirm the deletion to remove the saved card.

HSA and FSA cards

Thrizer accepts HSA and FSA cards as payment methods. Add an HSA or FSA card the same way you would add any other card under Client Portal → Settings → Payment Methods. If your HSA or FSA administrator asks for documentation to substantiate the expense, generate a superbill from Client Portal → Payments → Generate Superbill. You can then submit it for HSA or FSA reimbursement.
Your HSA or FSA plan administrator determines whether a specific session is eligible for HSA or FSA reimbursement, not Thrizer. Thrizer accepts the card as a payment method; your plan determines what qualifies.

Can I use an HSA or FSA card?

Yes. Thrizer accepts HSA and FSA cards as payment methods. Add the card the same way you would add a regular credit or debit card, using the card number, expiration date, and CVC. Whether a specific HSA or FSA card successfully pays for a given service depends on your HSA/FSA administrator’s rules for eligible expenses. Thrizer does not control HSA/FSA eligibility decisions. If your HSA/FSA administrator declines the charge, add a different card and ask your clinician to retry the charge. For FSA or HSA reimbursement documentation, generate a superbill from Client Portal → Payments → Generate Superbill. See Viewing payments and generating superbills for how this works.
An HSA or FSA card is a payment method, not an insurance plan. Paying with an HSA or FSA card does not, by itself, submit an insurance claim. Whether a claim is submitted depends on the payment type your clinician selects. Self-Pay does not submit a claim. OON Pay and Thrizer Pay submit a claim when the eligibility requirements are met. Failed payments

A charge requires a valid payment method. If your payment method fails, no payment is collected and no claim is submitted for that charge. Add or update a valid payment method before your clinician retries the charge.
Saved payment methods are cards used to pay session charges. A reimbursement bank account (used to receive reimbursement) cannot be used to pay charges. Completed charges cannot be reassigned to a different payment method after the fact — new cards apply to future charges only.
