New features

Transfer Team Owner with a confirmation step

Team Owners can now hand off the Team Owner role from Team members → Change Role. Picking Team Owner for another team member opens a confirmation that names the current owner and explains that the Team Owner is who Thrizer names as the payee on the practice’s 1099-K. When you are transferring your own role, the confirmation shows an extra warning that once you confirm, only the new Team Owner can transfer it back. Who this affects: Team Owners transferring ownership, and Practice Administrators being promoted to Team Owner. Why it matters: every practice keeps exactly one Team Owner, so 1099-K payee reporting stays unambiguous. The confirmation prevents an accidental hand-off and makes clear what you lose when you give up the role. What to do: to transfer ownership, open Team members, select Change Role on the incoming owner, select Team Owner, and confirm. See Team members.

Updates

Invites and team reassignments no longer create a second Team Owner

If a practice already has a Team Owner, inviting a new team member as Team Owner, or reassigning an existing clinician into the practice as Team Owner, is now refused. The refusal message names the current owner. To move the role, use the confirmed transfer flow described above. Who this affects: Team Owners and Practice Administrators sending invitations, and Thrizer admins reassigning a clinician between practices. Why it matters: it removes the “two Team Owners at one practice” state that would leave the 1099-K payee ambiguous. Ownership only changes through an explicit, confirmed transfer. What to do: if you meant to change who owns the practice, transfer the role first, then invite or reassign the previous owner into their new role. If you only need to add another admin, invite them as Practice Administrator instead. See Team members.

Bug fixes

Login restored for clinicians shown Active on a Team page but unable to sign in

A group of clinicians who appeared Active and assignable on their practice’s Team members page could not actually log in to Thrizer. Their Thrizer account was not connected to their login identity, so sign-in failed even though the rest of the practice could see them. We audited every account in this state and reconnected the ones that matched a real registered login. Who this affects: 76 clinicians across practices who had been showing as Active team members but were blocked from signing in. Why it matters: these clinicians can now log in and use Thrizer normally, including charging clients, submitting claims, and managing their profile. Practice Administrators and Team Owners no longer have to work around a team member who was visible on the roster but locked out. What to do: if you were previously unable to log in despite appearing on your practice’s Team members page, sign in now. No password reset or new invitation is needed. If you still cannot sign in, email help@thrizer.com. See Team members and Getting started as a clinician.
