Search BCBS payers by brand name

The insurance payer autocomplete now recognizes common Blue Cross Blue Shield brand names. Typing Anthem, Regence, Excellus, or another BCBS brand name surfaces the correct BCBS parent payer at the top of the results. Matches on a brand name show an Includes: {brand} subtitle so you can confirm the payer covers your plan before selecting it. Searches that don’t match a brand still show the payer’s ID in the subtitle as before. Who this affects: clients linking or editing insurance in the Client Portal, and clinicians adding or editing a client’s insurance. Why it matters: many clients see brand names like Anthem or Regence on their card and don’t recognize the underlying BCBS payer name. You can now find the right payer by typing the name printed on the card, which reduces mismatched selections and makes benefit checks and claim routing more reliable. What to do: nothing. The new matches appear automatically the next time you use insurance search. If you previously couldn’t find a Blue plan by its brand name, try typing the brand as it appears on the insurance card. See Link insurance and Add and manage clients.
