Specific rejection reasons on rejected claims
Rejected claims in the clinician dashboard now show a specific reason instead of a generic rejected message. Thrizer translates the rejection codes returned by the clearinghouse or payer into plain-language labels. The label combines the rejection category (for example,Rejected for invalid information), the field that failed (for example, Entity NPI), and who the field belongs to (for example, Billing provider).
This covers both clearinghouse rejections and payer-level rejections, so claims a payer turns away before making a coverage decision now show a reason too.
Who this affects: clinicians and practice teams reviewing rejected claims.
Why it matters: you can see which field caused the rejection without contacting support, and decide whether to fix a practice or client detail or escalate.
Next-step guidance on common rejections
For the most common rejection patterns tied to practice details, the claim drawer now explains what went wrong and what to do next. For example, an NPI rejection reads:Invalid or unrecognized NPI. Confirm the practice NPI in Account Settings. If it is already correct, check registration status with the plan. Similar guidance covers Tax ID, address, and plan-enrollment rejections.
The client claims list’s Result column keeps the shorter code labels. Open the claim drawer for the fuller guidance. The Client Portal continues to show a generic rejected message without codes or guidance.
See Claims and superbills for clinicians for the full list of reason labels and next steps.

Why it matters: the most frequent rejections are fixable in your own settings. The guidance tells you exactly which field to confirm before involving the payer or support.
