Anthem is an Elevance Health plan. Thrizer Pay and OON Pay direct deposit are not available for Anthem clients, who now receive reimbursement by paper check. See Elevance Health reimbursement changes for details. Anthem OON registration (below) is still required regardless of that change.
Before you start
Anthem now requires all non-participating (out-of-network) providers and practices to be registered before Anthem can process your clients’ out-of-network claims. Registration means Anthem has your Tax ID (TIN), each rendering provider’s NPI, and practice address on file as a verified provider. Registration creates a non-participating profile tied to your Tax ID and NPI. It does not create an in-network contract. It only allows your clients’ out-of-network claims to route without missing-provider rejections.Thrizer continues to submit claims for your Anthem clients as usual. Registration status affects claim outcomes, so claims submitted from July 6 onward and future Anthem claims may be delayed or denied if your practice is not registered.
How registration works
Complete registration through the Provider Enrollment and Network Management feature in Availity Essentials. Steps may vary slightly depending on your state or account setup. Contact Availity support if you need account-specific help.Steps to register your practice

What this means for your Thrizer claims
- Thrizer continues to handle claim submission for your Anthem clients as usual.
- Anthem may delay or deny out-of-network claims submitted on or after July 6, 2026, and future Anthem claims, if your practice is not registered.
- Registration does not create an in-network contract. Anthem still controls claim approval, processing, and final outcomes.
