Before you start

Anthem now requires all non-participating (out-of-network) providers and practices to be registered before out-of-network claims can be submitted. Registration means Anthem has your TIN, rendering providers, and address on file as a verified provider. Registration creates a non-participating profile tied to your Tax ID and NPI. It does not create an in-network contract. It only allows your clients’ out-of-network claims to route without missing-provider rejections.
Thrizer continues to submit claims for your Anthem clients as usual. Registration status affects claim outcomes, so claims submitted from July 6 onward and future Anthem claims may be delayed or denied if your practice is not registered.

How registration works

Registration is completed through the Provider Enrollment and Network Management feature within the Availity Essentials platform. Steps may vary slightly depending on your state or account setup. Availity has a support team if you need account-specific help.

Steps to register your practice

  1. Log in to Availity Essentials at availity.com.
  2. Select Payer Spaces.
  3. Choose Anthem.
  4. Go to Applications > Provider Enrollment and Network Management.
  5. Select Out-of-Network / Single Case Agreements to begin registration.
Select Out-of-Network / Single Case Agreements specifically. Do not select Join Our Network, which is a different, in-network process.

What this means for your Thrizer claims

  • Thrizer continues to handle claim submission for your Anthem clients as usual.
  • Anthem out-of-network claims submitted on or after July 6, 2026, and future Anthem claims, may be delayed or denied by Anthem if your practice is not registered.
  • Registration does not create an in-network contract. Anthem still controls claim approval, processing, and final outcomes.
  • For state-specific or Availity account-access questions, contact Anthem or Availity support directly.
If this process changes on Thrizer’s side, we will share an update. If you have questions, contact Thrizer support at help@thrizer.com.
