Before you start
The Thrizer Widget lets prospective clients check estimated out-of-network benefits using the services and rates configured by your practice. You can customize the widget, embed it on your website, or share a Thrizer-hosted link. The results are estimates only, and insurance determines final coverage, reimbursement, and claim outcomes.Where do I find the Thrizer Widget?
You can find the widget in the Clinician Portal under the Benefits area. From there, you can preview the widget, configure it, and choose how to share it with prospective clients. What’s required to show the widget
Before the public widget can be used, your account needs:- At least one clinician set up
- At least one service for that clinician
- A rate for that service
- The clinician’s Display setting set to Shown
Who can manage widget settings?
Widget settings are managed by practice administrators. If you do not see edit options for your practice’s widget, contact a practice administrator. What can I customize?
Open Widget settings from the Benefits Widget page to configure the widget. Settings are organized into three tabs:- Team — Add team members and configure which services and rates appear in the widget.
- Appearance — Set branding details such as the practice name and colors.
- Advanced — Choose how to share the widget, including the website embed type and the Thrizer-hosted shareable link.
What needs to be set up before the widget works?
At least one team member must be active with a service and rate, and be set to Shown in Widget settings, before the widget can be used. The services and rates connected to your team members determine what prospective clients can select in the public benefits calculator. If clients do not see the right service options, check that the relevant team member has an active service and rate configured. Why is the live preview replaced by a setup checklist?
When your widget is not ready to publish, the Benefits page hides the live preview and shows a Finish setting up your benefits widget card with an Action required badge. The card replaces the preview so the remaining setup steps are what you see first. The card shows three states, and each one comes with a clear next step:- No services added — No team member has a publishable service yet. Use the Add services action to open Widget settings on the Team tab and add a service to a team member. If your practice has only one team member, that member’s drawer opens automatically. A secondary Customize action opens the Appearance tab, which is optional but recommended.
- All team members hidden — At least one team member has services, but no one is set to Shown in the widget. Use the Manage Team action to open Widget settings, then turn on Show in widget for a team member. For a solo team, the relevant member’s drawer opens automatically.
- No active clinician on the team — Your practice does not have an active clinician who can be published to the widget. Contact Thrizer support at help@thrizer.com if you believe this is an error.
Clinicians who do not manage widget settings see an inactive-widget notice on the Benefits page instead of the setup hero. When available, the notice shows the name of a practice administrator to contact.
How do I add team member services and rates?
You can add team member services and rates from Benefits Widget → Widget settings → Team → Add team member. This is also available from Me → My Team. Team member services and rates are what power the options clients see when they use the public benefits calculator.Widget rates vs. what you charge clients
The rate set for a service on the widget is used to generate the public benefit estimate that prospective clients see. It does not have to match the exact amount you charge a specific client. The amount actually charged is determined by the client-specific rate or charge details you use when you create a Charge in the Clinician Portal. Thrizer does not currently support sliding scale as an automated rate schedule, global pricing rule, or default charging profile applied across all clients. If you use sliding scale or client-specific rates, adjust the rate manually on each client’s charge profile or on the Charge itself before charging. If you change your rate later, update the affected client charging profiles before their next charge. Because widget results are estimates, a client’s final charged amount and reimbursement can differ from the widget estimate. How do I control which team members appear in the widget?
Each team member has a Show in widget toggle in their drawer on the Team tab.- New team members start hidden from the widget.
- The toggle stays disabled until the team member has at least one service. Add a service first, then turn on Show in widget to make the team member selectable in the public benefits calculator.
- If you remove every service from a team member, they are automatically hidden from the widget.
How can I share the widget?
You can share the widget in two main ways:- Use the Website Embed option to place it on your practice website.
- Use the Shareable Link option to send clients to a Thrizer-hosted version.
What does the widget collect from clients?
The widget uses the client’s service selection, session rate, and insurance details to generate an estimated reimbursement amount and estimated out-of-pocket responsibility. The widget is designed for prospective benefit checks. Thrizer does not save the client information entered into the public widget. Are widget results guaranteed?
No. Widget results are estimates based on available insurance information. Final outcomes are determined by the insurance carrier after claim processing. For the full list of what a benefit check can and cannot confirm, see What is a benefit check?.Related articles
