Before you start
Use this guide when Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield is a required Local / Host Plan for your practice or claim-service location. A group registers its practice and associates its clinicians; the payer’s Hub also requires individual provider records. If registration is incomplete, claims can be delayed. Establish a new group if needed
Open Provider Forms and select Request for Application (Organization). For a new professional group, choose Clinic/Group and, under Networks requested, Non participating.Send the form to your regional Network Development Representative, as directed on the form. If your group already has a record, confirm that record rather than submitting another new-group request.

Request the individual non-participating application
From Provider Forms, open Request for Application (Provider). The first question asks whether you are currently on staff with Arkansas Blue Cross. Here, that means already enrolled with the payer, not employed by Thrizer.In the request, answer Yes when asked whether you are requesting to be a non-participating provider. The Hub guide, printed page 17, explains that this opens the non-par application without additional network contracts.

Connect the clinicians to the practice
The organization form directs clinicians being attached to a new clinic/group to complete and upload the clinic authorization form in the Hub.The Hub’s documented non-par route requires an active individual NPI, active license, and an eligible Arkansas or contiguous-county practice location. The location must be linked to an enrolled organization or a new organization application, or be a private practice using an individual NPI. If your situation differs, ask the regional representative for the correct process.

Have the clinician review and submit
An administrator can prepare and save the initial application. The clinician must log in, review it, and submit it. Answer all questions accurately and complete only the documents that apply.Keep the confirmation and ask Arkansas Blue Cross when the practice record and clinician associations are active.
